I’m taking part in one of my absolute favorite annual forum events: the E4 Signature Exchange Event.
In a hobby where lately so much of the noise revolves around card values and market trends this event is a breath of fresh air. It’s one of many annual events run on the forum which i look forward to every year.
What Is the Signature Exchange? #
Starting back in 2023, the Signature Exchange is a community fundraiser hosted on Elite Fourum.
Every participant signs and customizes a Pokémon card for every other member taking part. We ship our batch of cards to a central organizer, who then sorts them all out and sends each of us back a deck of signed cards from everyone in the event.
It’s a fantastic way to swap custom art and signatures with people you chat with daily on the site, but it also serves a bigger purpose. The entry fees go directly toward covering the operational costs of running E4. Since it started, the event has raised over $2,200 to keep the site funded purely by collectors, for collectors.
This marks the 4th year of the exchange, and the first one i will be participating in. Over the years i have gifted and received a few custom cards from members and its easily a highlight of my collection, filling up a binder of these cards would be something special.
The range of creativity every year is amazing to see. You don’t need to be a professional artist, It’s just a fun way to share a piece of our personal style with each other while helping keep our forum alive and well.
My Submissions #
I decided to illustrate a different Raichu artwork for each person and use Base Set reprints (XY-Evolutions) for the cards, along with my username as a signature.
On the top middle of the cards i noted the corresponding Raichu cards set number (either English or Japanese). For example, if you search online for “Raichu [set number]” You will find the Raichu card that i used!
I Chose Raichu because Raichu is one of my favorite Pokemon and chose the base set reprints because i love vintage cards like base set!
Sadly, after spending months preparing my batch of cards to send out, taking photos and videos of the process and the end result, I accidentally deleted my phones camera album loosing thousands of memories, including these cards.
Luckily the organizers @slade and @pfm spend much appreciated time producing a video of the cards submitted to them for the event so you can see mine below!
If you would also like to see everyone elses submissions, be sure to rewind the video to the beginning!
Cards Received #
The cards i received were fantastic! I am super happy with the results and i have already stored them in a very special binder next to my other signature cards from trades and events on e4, i hope to add many more in the coming years.
I also received the above EliteFourum lanyard and pin badge for taking part! Thanks for the gift e4! Thanks to everyone for taking part and going above and beyond with the personalized cards and signatures! See you again next year!
