This card was awarded to players who subscribed to the third season of the Pokemon Players Club (PCGP) in Japan 2005. All subscribers received a sealed pack of 9 cards, 6 of the cards were from the previous seasons subscription (Celebi 012/PLAY, Mew 013/PLAY, Jirachi 014/PLAY, Cyclone Energy 015/PLAY, Boost Energy 016/PLAY, Warp Energy 017/PLAY) and 3 new ones for the third season (Kyogre 019/PLAY, Groudon 020/PLAY, Rayquaza 021/PLAY).

The PCGP is the successor to the original Pokemon Fan Club, recruitment for the PCGP began on January 31st, 2003. By signing up and paying the membership fee you receive a Players Kit and an ID. Inside the players kit is where you would receive the promo cards along with other items, your ID would store your EXP for the event. You could earn EXP through participating in Pokemon Card Events or competing in battles. Once you had enough EXP points you would receive more exclusive promo cards.
