Dusknoir (094/DP-P) - Spring Battle Road

This card was originally given to players who participated in the 2008 Spring Battle Road tournament in Japan. The tournament was supposed to be held across 5 different locations in Japan, however only 2 tournaments concluded before a bomb threat caused the remaining 3 to be canceled completely.

The official cancellation notice from pokemon reads:

The Kanto tournament (scheduled to be held on April 12th and 13th) of the “Pokémon Card Game Battle Road Spring ★2008” was originally scheduled to be held from Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 at five venues nationwide for a total of seven days. Regarding I received a letter from an unknown sender stating that it would interfere with the holding of the tournament.

In response to this situation, after careful discussions with the relevant facilities, we have decided that the safety of our customers is our top priority, and we apologize for the inconvenience, but we have decided to cancel the Kanto tournament and the Chubu and Kyushu tournaments scheduled for the following. We have decided to do so. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we ask for your understanding as we are unable to provide details in order to avoid interfering with the investigation.

We sincerely apologize to our customers who have been looking forward to participating in this tournament for unexpectedly ending up in this situation.

Due to the cancellation, all members that had signed up to the Pokemon Daisuki Club were mailed a sealed promo pack containing this Dusknoir card as well as a Magnezone (093/DP-P) and also a Pikachu (095/DP-P).

Of the Pokémon cards that we had planned to give away to visitors, we will be giving away a total of three (one each for Jibacoil, Yonoir, and Pikachu) by June 2, 2008 (Monday). Apply for a Pokémon Daisuki Club card at the official Pokémon fan club Pokémon Daisuki Club. We have decided to send it to all customers who have applied for an annual membership fee.

In November of the same year, participants of the Challenge plaza tournament were also given 1 of 3 promo cards - This Dusknoir, a Pikachu (025/DP-P) & a Gible (026/DP-P) likely because of the bomb threat that cancelled some of the Battle Road tournaments.
