The Champion Road 2000 promo cards featuring Chikorita, Totodile, and Cyndaquil are an interesting piece of Pokémon TCG history from the early Johto era. The cards feature Gold Star Neo set symbols and text at the bottom right border of the card reading ““Champion Road 2000” visitor commemorative card”.

These unnumbered promotional cards were awarded in a limited fashion, thought to be originally awarded as attendance prizes during the Champion Road 2000 tournaments. This regional circuit began on January 9, 2000, and served as the grand finale for the successful 1999-2000 Grand Party Campaign. Participants competed using special pre-release decks from the Pokémon Card Neo (Neo Genesis) set, with each deck featuring the complete evolution line of one of the starter Pokémon.

These cards are often confused with the 11th Next Generation World Hobby Fair versions. These version do not include the gold star neo genesis symbols and have different text across the bottom right of the cards.
